Normally, when I want to change the time of a timer on the HMI panel is this the configuration?

How can I remove the 3 decimal digits? Keeping time in seconds?

I think the tag is transferred to PLC as number of miliseconds regardless how you format the display on HMI. If you want the user to enter the number of seconds, you might have to create two tags. The first one for display and data entry on HMI then multiply it by 1000 and store in second tag to use as timer setpoint. I believe the type of tags has to be DINT.

a lazy way:

Time internally is a dint and unit is 1ms so if you want to make things easy:

1. declare your time setpoint (in example called HS_TIME_SP) as int

2. declare a Temp variable type: Time_SP in Your FC/FB

3. call (in example Timer_Output is a Bool for Timer Result):

-----------MUL----------------------TON---------
HS_TIME_SP- DInt -Time_SP   Trigger-IN   Q-Timer_Output
      1000-                 Time_SP-TP  

 if you use SCADA you can use packing i.e. SCADA reads all as dint

and on SCADA side you split to integers (1 dint makes 2 integers), bytes, bools, etc.

this way you can save $$$ on license and make comms faster (smaller telegrams)
