First of all: gnome is not recommended since this is way too big for both IOT2050 devices. *lxde:* apt update apt install lxde apt install task-lxde-desktop xfce: apt update apt install lightdm apt install xorg apt install xfce4 It is also possible to get connected via Windows Remote Desktop after installing a desktop environment. Therefore you need to install the following packages (tested with lxde): apt install xrdp apt install xorgxrdp After that restart xrdp with: systemctl restart xrdp lxde is a very lightweight desktop environment with almost no additional programs installed, whereas xfce comes with some pre-installed programs. For lxde I recommend to install xfce4-power-manager (apt install xfce4-power-manager) to disable auo hibernation / sleep / lock display, since there is something going wrong when the device goes to auto-sleep. Could be also the case for xfce, but I haven't tested this. Best regards!

Ping will work because the ICMP doesn't need any port. I had exactly the same issue but I asked my IT colleague to configure the proxy settings that enabled the port 80. Then I could download the packages. Additionally you have to deactivate the mandatory SSL check if needed.

I have plugged the installation/configuration stick into the IoT 2050 again and checked the settings. The problem was due to the missing repository. Only after I added a server, the installation worked. Thanks again.

And from your putty window it looks like your IOT2050 does not have an IP address. Did you change the eno1 interface to dhcp? Can you share the output of nmcli? Best regards!
