Vis7 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	hi Friend, I have joined this site very recently. I found some of your answers very useful to me in regards to high Speed counters. I am a beginer to PLC and request your support in solving my problem. I am using FM354 positioning module 6ES7354-1AH01-0AE0 for measuring a. Stroke length in mm of a hydraulic cylinder. The stroke is measured using a Temposonic absolute encoder with SSI output. b. To display the same parameter in a OP270 HMI. I have tried doing the parameterization but was unsucessfull. I did the following connections 1. Connected the 7 pin cable from sensor to FM354 SUBD15 pin connector as per the instructions given in the manual. 2. I didn't use the drive connector as i was not using any DRIVE unit to enable a operaion etc. Request you to tell me whether the above operation is correct 3. After parameterization if i need to display the stroke length in mm what should i do in programm for reading and displaying the value? After including the FC_POSCTRL function block in OB1 cycle and FC_POSINIT fuction in OB82. Please help me in solving this problem. Regards Vis7

Anguraj Posts: 56 Rating: (0)	Dear mr.Vis, Please check the following, 1. Check Encoder SSI Data, Clock signal Voltage is 5V 2.Check encoder Data, Clock and power supply wiring 3. Put CPU to Stop mode 4.check Machine data is activated or not/ 5.enter SSI data FRAME Either 13 bit or 25 bit No of revolutions ( either Single or Multiturn) 6.After all check the Encoder actual Value ( u have to rotate encoder) Once the basic steps are over u try to communicate the values to MMI All the best....
