hello......,

my laptop is hp 8440p

I have succesfully installed tia portal v13 from a new starterkit "6es7212-1bd34-4yb0"

as i try to connect my laptop to my plc as in the next video on YouTube : simatic s7-1200 AT1 simple movements at 1:05  my laptop seems to be unable to find/dectec my plc.  details can be seen in the attachment.

how can it be what do i do wrong

Hi.

I suggest to you to have a look at the IP address on your PC. Ensure the PC is using a fixed IP (for your ethernet card) that is in the same ranges as your PLC. See if this resolves your issue.

Do remember to put the IP address back on dynamic when you are done.

can you be more detailled and specifie what i have to do

because i searced on the internet about how to use a fixed ip so i go to the following menu (see attachement) (the adress typed in the attachment, i just typed something). but how do i know what ip adress and subnet mask i have to fill in or where i can find it

If Yes can you ping the IP from your PC?

are the Link LED on the PLC active?

Is the network connection in windows active when you plug the lan cable between PC and PLC?

In TIA Portal in the project  view under "online access" go to you used network adapter and start accessible nodes, is here any device found?

If no device found you can check if the device is found when you use PRONETA Tool.

Christoph, thanks for helping out.. please help some more if you can. I think the trouble is that this PLC is new and no IP address has been set up yet. Gerard will need to know how to and where to look for it.. and have the PC configured in the range to do so.

in proneta, I saw a s7-1200 but, that was it

please can you make a screen of proneta where the PLC is found?
In the right list in proneta you can see if your PLC have always a IP Address.
