Hello everyone,

I have a question that has been a big pain when trying to use PLSIM with TIA portal for S7-300 PLC;

The connection is established and i can download the program on the PLC but when i have an SF and i try to access the Diagnostic Buffer to check the problem, i keep getting the following error (please also check the attached photo):

"The configuration of the interface card cannot be changed from PLCSIM [ISO] to PLCSIM [PROFIBUS].

The interface card still has open connections. Therefore, the configuration cannot be changed."

This message is very persistent, even if i press ok it will pop back again, it only goes away if i close the PLCSIM or if i keep pressing okay more than 15-20 times.

Anyone has an idea what is going on, i have checked for open connections, PG/PC interface configuration, etc...

It is easily possible to find out if it is related to your project or the S7-PLCSIM itself.For that make a small S7-300 project that contains only an MPI interface.Connect the PLC to default MPI network, download it to PLCSIM and check the result.

 I have tested the PLCSIM with a CPU313C on MPI connection and still have the same problem as above. I have also tried reinstalling PLCSIM, and that didn't solve my problem.

In case of re-installation of PLCSIM and encountering the same problem, personally I check the online compatibility tool of SIOS if set of software matching together with my operating system in use .In case of existing a same problem, I try a fresh installation(Windows and other software) without any other 3rd part automation products on my machine.

Hi,

I've faced same problem - err message today with tia v13 sp1 up5. Then, after couple of tries another things - manually selecting pg - pc interface, network connection adjustments or changing cpu model to another with new firmware didn't solved my problem. After that i realised that simatic net component and activated opc servers interactions caused that plc - sim communication interruptions. shotdown opc server solved my problem
