I'm currently working with Siemens HMI panels TP070, 3 x TP170A and a TP170B MONO. I was assigned to test these five panels and retrieve the software from them. I have spent  long hours with these panels and encountered problems I could use some help to solve.

TP070:

Prosave doesn't have option for backuping the software. I read somewhere that WinCC doesn't work with this panel and I should use Protool, which is provided with MicroWin after version 4. However I do not have Protool installed. Any ideas?

TP170A:

One of the panels just show blue blank screen after start-up. Is it broken?

Two of the panels show Loader B 6.0.14 screen after start-up.

Other one of these two shows the loader box after start-up and then goes automatically after a short period to transfer screen that just says: "Connecting to host...". I can't click anything on the loader screen. It previously ran a SCADA software but then I clicked the transfer button. Is there something wrong with this panel?

The last panel has one white 9-pin RS485 IF1B port unlike the other two panels have black ports. The white port says PLC and the black ones says PLC/Download. All the Siemens order/serial numbers are the same. Can the white port panel be accesed with MPI protocol?

Any of these three panels doesn't communicate with my PC. I've tried several cable and setting combinations. What are the right settings for communication? Is the MPI-cable correct?

TP170B MONO:

This panel has three ports. First port says RS422/RS485 IF 1B - PLC and third port says RS232 IF 2 - Printer/Download. Which cable and settings should I use to communicate to this panel with PC?

 i think you can use WinnCC but you have to update the OS (Operating System).

why you must use old Protool? In ProSave 10.0.1.0 are that panels included, so there is chance to make only backups, you can never get project from panel to configure next time with ProSave. If you don't have original config project file, i think no chance. Question is, with which SW was that OPs configured. Give info.

I've looked at old ProTool and WinCC Flexi 2008 SP3, there can be only that TP170A and TP170B MONO configured, maybe retrieved project from it. Try it, give info.
