What is the best and most practical and cost effeciant way to communicate  S7-1200 to a BMS system like Desigo CC over BACNET?

never worked with this protocol, but I think that your posted device system use probably own controller for distributed I/O with implemented BACnet protocol. As S7-1200 not support (probably) BACnet protocol, solution can be use probably Modbus protocol from S7-1200, RTU or TCP, I think. Look for documentation on Siemens site.

Very simple solution, it is to use MODBUS TCP on S71200 and gateway Fieldserver MODBUS BACNET TCP

Very simple to configure and to use.
