My system is using IM151-1 (6ES7 151-1AA05-0AB0). I want to replace this module by module 6ES7 151-1AA06-0AB0. Do I have to configure hardware and download again?

Hi MrBin,

I think you must not change HW config because you module is fully compatible to your old module.

From 6ES7 151-1AA04-0AB0 to 6ES7 151-1AA05-0AB0 was the following note:

A new configuration is only required if you wish to use the new functions (except the performance increase).

The PROFIBUS interface module IM151-1 ST with article number 6ES7151-1AA05-0AB0 had to be changed to a new hardware base.

Thenew SIMATIC ET 200Sinterface module replaces the predecessor with full compatibility and receives thenew article number 6ES7151-1AA06-0AB0 .

Incoming orders for the previous interface module will be automatically converted to the new interface module once existing stocks have been sold off.

 like Towome told, you can project it as 1AA05, and you don´t need to change anything.

I have to change hardware in step 7 and download to PLC again? Because My hardware configuration in step 7 use 6ES7 151-1AA05-0AB0.

I guess Towome gave You answer which explains it all. 

Do You have to change it in hardware - You've got to answer this question by yourself (are you going to use new features supported by newer version)
