Hi All, 

A happy customer is requesting to take over his basic panel from remote. However he has a basic panel and yet no license . As it is not 100% clear for me what theyneeds to start: 

- is it possible with a basic panel to use smartclient? 

- If above is answered with yes- do we need a license? Where is that license installed then?

For Basic panel 2nd generation You need:

1) "WinCC Sm@rt Server for Basic Panel" licence.

2) Transfer this licence to panel trough Automation licence manager

3) Configure basic panel to run sm@rt server

4) Set remote access pasword on basic panel

5) VNC client to access Basic panel

It is present since TIA 14.0 for Basic 2nd gen. with firmware 14.0+ (and PN interface...)

 This is correct information. TIA Portal system manual, is the place where you can find information about it.

 But this "WinCC Sm@rt Server for Basic Panel" license (as I heard) is a one-time license.

Meaning that you have to buy a license to every BasicPanel you want to use VNC.

Can anyone Confirm this?
