You cannot simply download from Siemens' support pages  Step 7 Professional 2010 (for example) and install it free of charge. There must be an existing (legally purchased) installation of Step 7 Professional before available downloads (for service packs and hotfixes) function.

For example:

You must contact a local Siemens rep and discuss the purchase of a license:

6ES7810-5CC11..     STEP 7 Professional Edition 2010

Just to say that if you want to use S7 300 modules do not need STEP 7 Professional "Classic" there are also in Tia Portal as long as are not too old (since you said you have S7 1200, you will also have Tia Portal) . Below is a FAQ to see if your modules are also in Tia Portal

I suppose you want STEP 7 Professional V13 if you post on "STEP 7 (TIA Portal)" forum.
