I´ve been using WinCC RT Advanced for a while now, and i have two doubts that came to me recently. 1- Why is it, that when I am loading a project to a PLC (in my case an S7-1200), the interface type is PN/IE, and when loading a WinCC RT project there is only Ethernet?, is it not the same connection? 2- What is the use of WinCC RT Loader?, one can just run the WinCC RT projects without loading them.

If there is no data connection between two computers with WinCC ES Advanced/Professional or RT Advanced/Professional, the transfer can still be made in WinCC by using a removable medium - check this: With WinCC (TIA Portal) V13, how do you transfer a configuration without a direct data connection to a PC with WinCC Runtime Advanced/Professional? Murof Platinum Expert Joined: 8/3/2009 Last visit: 1/9/2026 Posts: 16629 Rating: (1944)	Hello erghurt The Runtime Loader is just a pease of Software the is created to load Projects to a HMI device, Its running on the Panels as well. In Runtime on a PC you can use the Runtime loader to load a WinCC Adv. RT out of the TIA portal without using USB Stick or something. If you want to use an offline Data Transfer you can use: https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/ww/en/view/103198851 But you can also run the Runtime by do a doubleclick on the .fwx File or use a Batch File with the Runtime exe File and the Path with .fwx File as the first Parameter.
