Hi,

I have S7 CPU416F-3 PN/DP and the EXTF lamp is always on. This morning (same as two days ago) there was cut of power (black out) for some time and than the power was back on.

After this I went in diagnostic to see what is the problem and I discovered this (the message I'm sending you in attach).

As I understood, the I/O access error, writing message I received when the black out happened (time ~07:17). After that the PLC recovered (time ~07:31).

I have no problems with the SW, everything is working just fine, but I still have this EXTF on.

Just not to confuse you, I have EXTF also before the Balck out, but I couldn't find out what is it.

Does someone has any idea looking the file message?

I had a behavior like this on a older S7-400-CPU.

The EXTF-LED was on all the time, without a failure. It was a firmware-bug. A FW-Update fixed it.

I was looking in the firmware-notes of your PLC, but I didn´t find anything about that problem.

I was searching further and found a FAQ, that may helps:

The LED "DP EXTF" glows, although no PROFIBUS-net is connected to the integrated DP-interface

I tried the second point from your notes, but no effect. It is the same, the EXTLED is still on.

The firmware I don't want to mess with right now, because here is production and if something happens afterward, I'll be dead!:D

I guess the access-errors in the diagnostic buffer coming because of the power-failure.

When you had this failure before, the diagonstic buffer-txt-file is not helpful.

Did you have a look online to the HW-config?

Is there anything that seems not right?

the access errors are because power failure, you are right, and that is not related with the EXT FLT led.

I have seen the HW, everything is OK, no errors, no red crosses, no nothing. Also the SW is working fine, no errors.

What can I see more? What can I try?
