?? How can I go online to Sinamics G120 in Simotion with 12MB Profibus setting?

Ahoora - Jafari Posts: 179 Rating: (5)	Hi Experts, How can I go online to Sinamics G120 in Simotion with 12MB Profibus setting? We have a system that used S7-300 + Simotion to configure the \|Sinamics G120 drive by machine builder. When I try to go online the same as other Simotion project we have (different is that others used EtherNet) I receive an error to check comm. setting and ... I set the communication to Profibus and 12MB but I can not go online! Is there any suggestion from who has some experience? Thanks

If the PC is on a SIMOTION Ethernet interface connected then you must place a PG/PC in Netpro for Routing. Have you download the HWConfig to the Simotion? Regards Christoph

Ahoora - Jafari Posts: 179 Rating: (5)	Hi ChristophD, there is no Simotion, just as usual I connect My Field PG to Ethernet Switch to go online to PLC or HMI but Drives are on Profibus 12MB. There are no Simotion Drive on the system, 6 years ago when I talked to programmer (or Field engineer from that company) I was told that they set the drive by Simotion! I just want to change CU240S-DP to CU240E-2DP but I can not find CU240E-2DP on Hardware Catalog (I even downloaded the latest version of 2016 from Siemens Web). I can see the units we have (CU240S-DP) on Hardware Catalog but not CU240E-2DP (in PLC Hardware) My Step 7 is V5.5 and even l downloaded the SP3 last night but still I can not see it!!! Temperary I used Starter to set that drive to run the machine by a PC

Ahoora - Jafari Posts: 179 Rating: (5)	Hi again, I installed Starter Ver 4.4 and also added PG/PC to the Hardware of PLC and downloaded the new hardware setting to the PLC but still can not go online to the Drive. I attached a few Print Screen of the Hardware setting and Starter commnication to Device setting. My new question s about how to set Device communication to use Router? Communication to the PLC and HMI's are by Ethernet and communication to drive is by Profibus 12MB. I haven't done this communication setting before and I need some help to set it up. What you see on attachment is just what I tried to go online to the drives by Starter and using Ethernet connection as Router to Profibus connection on Drives. Thank you very much. ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 12/19/2025 Posts: 22816 Rating: (3073)	Hi, you have make a lot of screens but in all screens the relevant informations ar cutted :( So please which error messages you get in the detail Window "Target System Output"? Which FW you have on the G120 ? Can you go online to the SIMOTION ? Which Simotion do you use? In the project select a G120 Drive -> Right Mouse Click -> Target Device -> Online Access -> Module Adresses. You can also try to show if the G120 is found in accessible Nodes. The SIMOTION Should be identified here and you can expand the PLC with the "+" then navigate to the PROFIBUS Network and schow which devces are listed here. regards Christoph
