This message informs you, that the braking resistor is not big enough for your requirement and that you have to take additional measures.
If the settings are correct and the mean regenerative power is really bigger than the rated power of the available braking resistor the resistor will be overloaded.
The power modules are released and tested to be used with at least the resistance value stated in the manual. Smaller resistance values with more electrical power are not allowed.
The power modules are released to be used with up to four times of the rated breaking power with the same resistant value.
You can achieve this by using a resistors from our drive option partners with the same data but a bigger rated power or you can use 4 resistors (JJY:023422620001) connect two times two resistors in parallel and those in series again, so you get overall the same resistance again, but with four times the rated braking power.

the power modules are released to be used with up to four times of the rated braking power. Values beyond this are not released because the braking chopper could be damaged.
So basically it will work with both resistors as long the rated power, in this case 4*1,1kW, and the duty cycles are met. I would recommend to check if the needed duty cycle could be achieved with those resistors. You can find information about the duty cycles in chapter 8.2.4 of the hardware installation manual.

yes, braking resistors with higher resistance and lower power are allowed.

For thermal protection, braking resistor mast have a thermo switch.
