It is possible to upgrade S71200 cpu1214dc/dc/dc v2.2 into v4.1 ?

SerroMacheRr Posts: 10 Rating: (1)	Hello, I have TIA Portal V11 SP1 and I've bought a new S7-1200 CPU (1212C). It's firmware version is V2.2 but at my program there is Just V2.1. How can i update or upgrade those versions? Thanks Attachment CPU-1212C.jpg (977 Downloads)

And tried with second link to update my catalog data, there was an error message like "You have to use at least TIA basic" But i'm already using TIA Advanced. I downloaded also SP2 and want to know that, I write a program according to V2.0, if i install SP2, Can i change the CPU firmware version without any change? Regards and thanks.

Darius Platinum Member Joined: 9/28/2005 Last visit: 12/9/2025 Posts: 2957 Rating: (243)	Hi, When you have SP2+UPD3 installed you can choose between v1.0, v2.0, v2.1 and v2.2 firmware versions of S7-1200. Also you can use v3.0 firmware, but thats for the other type of controller, I mean with newer MLFB. Its not so important regardin PLC program itself, you can change FW version at any time and it will not impact your program. We don't speak about v1.0 here. You need to forget it at all.

You are free to choose firmware version when adding PLC to HW config. Once it has been added you need to change device type in order to use another firmware.

How do I change the existing PLC from 2.0 to 2.2 in TIA? 4. Is there anything more I must do? 4. Where is a detailed procedure for all of this? I have TIA V11 SP2 U3. As a new user, I simply cannot find any of this on the site or in the documentation. Please advise. Thanks bxtn
