Problem using "CTRL_PTO" in s7-1200

MOHSENM Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	Hello Dear Experts Software: TIA Portal V14.0 SP1 Hardware: (S7 1200 1212C DC/DC/DC) >> (SM 1231 RTD Module) >> (SM 1232 Analog Output Module) What I need: I need a very simple pulse train output (PTO) (no homing, no direction, nothing!) *Note* : to reduce the complexity of the problem, I don's use the two above hardware modules in the project, they're just attached to the cpu at the moment. What I did: 1) I created a new project. 2) I activated "PTO2/PWM2" in the cpu properties. (see attached screenshot) 3) I added "CTRL_PTO" instruction to network1 and set some tags The Problem: The CTRL_PTO does not work! It shows error "16#80D0" witch --according to TIA Poratl Help--means: "The pulse generator with the specified hardware ID is not activated. Activate the pulse generator in the CPU properties under "Pulse generators (PTO/PWM)" but I already activated it in CPU properties! (see attached screenshot) What is the problem?! #dP Posts: 2826 Rating: (692)	How is the permissions on your photo service configured? There is no access. Create a ZIP file with the pictures. Or - - inline pictures are possible. Drag and drop the JPG / GIF / PNG image file from Windows Explorer into the message. It is important to see how the code was done. Some pointers It is best to use the system constants in the PLC tags listings. Do make sure the PLC hardware and software is properly compiled. Load BOTH downloaded to your PLC. This function does NOT simulate. Firmware 4.2 of the CPU

Do make sure the PLC hardware and software is properly compiled. Load BOTH downloaded to your PLC. [right click on the PLC in your project tree, select download the hardware, and do that] ...

If I get all green, I know I have a chance at eventually getting the logic to do my bidding and what my customer needs. There are several commissioning milestones, but the most important of all is gaining control of all the hardware. So that right-click download is the means to that milestone. I hope we both remember it well. I have forgotten it more than I would like to remember! MOHSENM Problem Solved! Right Click in the PLC and Download harware configuration! Thanks you so much

I need to rule servodrive by pulse generator with variable frequency for positioning. I can not use motion control functions (such as MC_MoveRelative or MC_MoveAbsolute), because I need position follower mode. In this topik I read about CTRL_PTO. In my situation I have 1200 PLC and TIA v13. But in TIA v13 I have CTRL_PWM only. Is it soft problem? Do I need update my software? Best regards, Electronshik P.S. I found answer for my question about updating. Yes, I need update software.But, can I use this function for changing frequency? Thanks for answer!
