I would suggest adding the CU320 and servo drive to your project and connecting to the PLC via profinet (I assume).  You can then drag a telegram for the drive into your project which give you inputs and outputs connected directly to the CU320 / Servo Drive.

From there, you can issue ON/OFF2/OFF3, plc control bit, monitor status, issue fault reset, set speed, monitor speed / torque / current, or use position control.  Just depends on the application.

If you need quick response to your control changes, you can add :P to the tag associated with what you are controlling (speed, position, torque).

For example, let's say your drive uses IW300..IW308 and QW300..QW308.  Perhaps the control value is in the 2nd word.  QW302:P tells the PLC to send the value out right now rather than wait for end of logic scan for normal process image updates.

I have some questions about how indirect addressing works in S7 1500.

From what I have understood, in this new family of PLCs, the concept of "peripheral addressing" disappears completely, now every I/O is defined inside a specific process image. My question is: are pointers working all the same? For example a code snippet like this:

L     #ADDR
SLD   3
T     #Address_IN
L PEW [ #Address_IN]
T    #Data

that simply reads a word from an address storing it in a local variable should be simply translated in something like this:

L     #ADDR
SLD   3
T     #Address_IN
L EW [ #Address_IN]
T    #Data

 Or maybe it is better to use (performance reasons?) the new instructions PEEK and POKE:

  CALL  PEEK
         value_type:=Word
         number_type:=DInt
         area       :=16#81
         dbNumber   :=16#0
         byteOffset :=#ADDR
         Ret_Val    :=#Data

Excuse me if this questions sound trivial, but the programming guideline is not clear enough on this topic in my opinion.

I forgot to mention, you should look at the DriveLib for S7-1500 and your version of portal.   Search this support site for DriveLib s7-1500 and you should find the documentation and library quickly enough.

Add that library to your project.  Refer to the documentation, and use whatever blocks you need.

No indirect addressing required.
