I have windows 10 and i installed the latest version of ste7 ( v5.6) unfortunately i'm not able to open any project. when i try to open projects nothing happened. i have been looking for solution but it's not solved until now. could you help me please.

Try to make a new directory on your C: og D: drive like "C:\Projects".

I see that you Step7 is French?; but in English, select "Options -> Customize" and for the default project directory, select the directory "C:\Projects".

Then close Simatic Manager and open it again.

See if this helps.

I turned on my computer now and it works good for the moment. Most of time i have this problem. and i solved it by re-installing NetFrameWork then it works. But since the last update (Netframework 4.7.1) when i try to re-install it it shows that netframe work is already installed and i can't even uninstall it. now i opened step7 and it works but i'm sure that if  i reboot my laptop the problem will come again.

If the issue is related to .NET Framework, you might want to try the Microsoft .NET Framework repair tool to see if it helps.

The Net Framework 4.7 is integrated in windows 10, so uninstalling/repairing is not an option. When the solution is infact going back to a previous version of windows 10 where only Net Framework 4.5 and 4.6  is used.

Windows 1709 is not fully compatible, going back to Windows 1607 resolves this.

How to go back to a previous version of windows 10:
Windows 10 > All Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > 'Going back to a previous version of windows'

And then follow the steps.

Unfortunetly this problem still happened .

i already did update of Windows10 to version1803.

sometimes the i can open the projects and most of times i can not. for the moment i'm using windows7 on Virtual Machine.but it's running slowly.

I hope that there will be a solution for this issue.

We have the same Problem with any Step7 V5.6,

with Windows7 or Windows10 it works if we are in the Domain network (as sone as the cable is in)

and if we are just local on the Laptop Step7 does not open Projects.

We are still looking for a solution

Meanwile we are using VMware
