License Keys installed, but not found

digo Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	Hi, I've a SIMATIC FIELD PG with win2000 and STEP7 Professional Edition 2004, that includes Step7 V5.3. As i needed to update HW catalog, i had to install a new SP, and to do that instalation i had to install ".net framework". I did all, and after that, whenever i closed a SIMATIC application, an error of Automation License Manager appeared, but it worked. That happened for 2 months. But today appeared a message as "No Valid Key Found" when opening Simatic Manager. I checked the installed keys with Automation License Manager and it reports that licenses are OK. I moved the Keys to the floppy, reinstalled the Automation License Manager, and installed the keys again, but the problem stillhappens. Have anyone an idea? Thanks ---------------------------- 15th september: Finally i could fix the problem with ALM by deleting old files that where in ..\crypto\RSA , as explained in the link that "Wizard" wrote. The only problem that i have now is an error message, something like "Automation License manager. General Error: 5" (I've got the spanish version, so perhaps that's not the best translation), that appears whenever i close a SIMATIC application, such as the module editor. That problem began when i installed SP4 and .net framework on my PG, where i had installed S7 V5.3. At least, i can use my PG. Anyway, thank you everyone for your usefulhelp. Regards, Digo

JMJ Posts: 487 Rating: (45)	It does not look like the problem is with ALM, because it is able to see the license. I think the problem is with Step7, may be a corrupt file. Now, reinstalling Step7 may be a pain specially if you have other Simatic softwares also installed. It may be better to contact tech support. They may be able to fix it without re-installing Step7.

There you can see whether the Automation License Manager (ALM) does see the software. If not, you should reinstall the software. While running setup just select 'Repair'. Please check whether you have one of the following time zones set on your computer: (GMT -03:30) Newfoundland (GMT +03:30) Teheran (GMT +04:30) Kabul (GMT +05:30) Bombay, Calcutta, Madras, New Delhi (GMT +09:30) Adelaide (GMT +09:30) Darwin If you have any of the above time zones, licences will not work. But it should tell you in the ALM that the licence key is corrupted. Are you sure that ALM telling you that the licence key is ok?
