plc802(PPI) interface doesn't install

is_razi Experienced Member Joined: 3/13/2009 Last visit: 7/12/2025 Posts: 132 Rating: (1)	hi everybody, recently we have bought a sinumerik 802c baseline cnc controller. i have installed the "programming tool PLC802" in my computer but when i try to install the"PLC802(PPI)" interface the installation prgress flows but there is no installed PLC802C(PPI) in the"installed" pane of "install/remove interface" window after the installation finishes. please guide me about this problem. thanks.

OvidiuNastac Posts: 419 Rating: (19)	Hi I have had once the same problem and I think it was because I have installed STEP 7 before 802 Tool box. So try to uniinstall STEP 7 and then install 802 Tool box and after that reinstall STEP 7. Good luck Nit

is_razi Experienced Member Joined: 3/13/2009 Last visit: 7/12/2025 Posts: 132 Rating: (1)	thanks to your guidance i solved the problem of programming interface. but now when i want to connect to the controller to read it's plc contents i got the "read PLC type failure" or "communication time out,..." . i have tried all the various baudrate and addresses but i am not sure about them.can you tell me what addresses and baudrate i must use for the default setting of rs232 communication please. i must say that i got this reply from the siemens support center for my first question: "because of German export regulations we can not give support to your question.".they even hadn't wanted toanswer me about their ownbuggy software.what a good support they have.. thanks for your guidancesdear Nit.

Could you check what is version of programming tool 802D PLC are you installing it.... are connecting from comport are though PC slot RS232 / USB RS232 Without unistalling Step 7you can install.....what is you operating software and service pack installed? Also check on you PC go to control panel in that select SET PG/PC interface > Access point of the application should be =>S7 Online (STEP7)-->PLC802(PPI) > If your PLC802(PPI) is not installed after installing also ..you can go SET PG/PC interface > Interfaces> add/remove> select >selction of module & installed module. >If your progamming tool 802D(PPI) can you able to see in selction module try install the same if this is not there in the Installed module.
