The empty transfer card erases the internal load memory of the CPU. You can then download a new user program from STEP 7 Basic to the CPU.More info you could find at SIMATIC S7 S7-1200 Programmable controller manual. (Chapter "Using a memeory card"...) Crims0m Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	I´m having the same problem, I´ve followed several instructions about this: I have two different versions of the S7-1200 CPU: 6ES72141AG31-0XB0 and 6ES72141AE30-0XB0 Both of them have a program with password that I need to erase, I´ve already tried with the transfer memory card procedure and also with a empty memory, and I have´t been able to reset theese CPUs to factory settings or erase the load memory. Some ideas??

Some ideas?? This method described in the manual is the method to wipe the PLC clean.. there is no other way. What is the Siemens part number of the transfer card that you used? If all else fails... take those PLCs to a Siemens Regional Office and have them help you.

The Siemens cards are not SD cards they are the older type MMC cards (I think). But also to notice that the Siemens cards are formatted in a special way. Try to focus you web searches on how to get the right partisian setup onto a regular SD card. Else you will have to directly contact Siemens Support for other ideas..... as a product user that is not employed by Siemens I have nothing else for you. grrrrrroooo Posts: 1250 Rating: (174)	Well of you have that many CPUs then it's worth paying for a 2meg memory card. You should be able to find them on ebay. I just sold two of mine left with only one ( yes I regret selling them) otherwise I would've offered you one.

Do realise that not all countries are open for free flow commerce. Some of us really struggle to get what we need at prices we can afford. (sad smile) If I had an invitation letter for a visa, I could probably courier the MMC card. I have not yet been to Cuba. ..but there will have to be lecture or job to make it worth it. w
