steffo Posts: 38 Rating: (0)	Hello. I have an application where I use CU320-2DP, 2 of the motors will be mechaniclly connected. As for now I haven't ben able to test my application, but 1 drive uses EPos, and the other is in torque mode. I have taken p79 from motor 1 and use that as a torque setpoint in motor 2. Is there anything else I will need to do besides this? Best Regards Stefan Splitted from Axis couplings using Sinamics S120 and CU320 (speed-synchronous)?.

DenisMor Posts: 344 Rating: (50)	Torque setpoint arrangement will work. There is a slightly extended method that you may want to consider as well. Pass both speed setpoint & torque setpoint from motor 1 to motor 2. Set the setpoint of the motor 2 at slightly higher speed then motor 1 using speed scaling in the setpoint channel (p1070, P1071). Pass the torque setpoint of motor 1 to the torque limit of motor 2 (P1522). What will happen is that motor 2 will try to run at a speed higher the motor 1 and will hit the torque limit. If, for some reason, the mechanical coupling breaks between two motors, Motor 2 will not run away, but will continue to run at some reasonable speed.

steffo Posts: 38 Rating: (0)	Hello again, now I have connected the drives mechanically and I get some errors. I get a following error when i activate both drives.My slave drive wich are in torque mode I have given r79(Master) to p1511(that doesn't feel right). /stefan

Can the system run, slow, without faults on one motor? Will it run in speed with both? If yes, what is the torque utilization and limits? Have the motors been tuned?

SKG Posts: 135 Rating: (3)	Hello DenisMor, With your advice, I have already implemented master-slave configuration in the following way and it has been runningwell (the motors are coupled with metal wire): 1. I calculated reference valuesfor both the drives (master and slave) for having equal linear speed. 2. Then I increased 5% of this reference value of slave to let it work in torque limit. Parameter settings for the slave: 1. p1071[0] = 0 this is for stopping the main setpoint coming, in my case, from profibus to p1070[0]. 2. p1075[0] = r1150 of master (spd reference) 3. p1076[0] = p2900 (Scaling factor for having refernece value for slave to have5% higher linear speed than master). 4. p2900 = Calculated scaling factor in %. 5. p1122[0] = 1 (bypassed ramp of slave) 6. p1522 = r79 (total toeque of master).
