PT100 - 4AI X RTD & S7-1200 1214

haris_usama Posts: 81 Rating: (2)	Dear All, I am using a S7-1200 1214 AC/DC/RLY CPU along with a 4AIXRTD module. I have a 3-wire PT100 Temperature sensor, which I have checked with a multimeter and it works properly giving resistance between two wires and showing short-circuit between one pair. I have wired it to the first channel according to the wiring diagram and kept the following settings. Power supply error = Off Channel 0 = 3 wire rtd all other checks ON All other channels deactivated - and wired as per diagram in the document from siemens. I also used a 200Ohm resistor and wired it like a 2-wire RTD to check it it works. IW96 which is the address reads 32676 constantly and so do other channels. Also, there is no error if i simulate wire break. i.e. Take out one, two, three or all wires from channel one. Even though wire break error is checked. CPU firmware is 2.2 TIA portal Step 7 V11 Kindly advise? Best Regards, Haris Usama

Have you seen this important note? When wire break alarm is disabled and an open wire condition exists in the sensor wiring, the module may report random values. _{@Gabriel: 2,3 or 4 wire has nothing to do with powersupply, but all with compensation of wire recistance see:}_{http://www.omega.com/temperature/pdf/rtd_gen_specs_ref.pdf} Regards, Marcjan Attachment 1200rtd.JPG (1229 Downloads)
