Aradove Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi! Where can I find the alarm text files in 840D SL? I tried searching this forum and internet but cannot find any answer. I've searched the whole drive on the machine using WINSCP for .com files and files name alarm but did not find the correct files. The /lng folders does have some alarm files like alsc_eng.txt which contain some information messages. The machine in question has an thin client, so my guess is that all is located in the NCU unit. NCU info: Siemens 6FC5372-0AA00-0AA2 6FC5372-0AA00-0AA2, 840D SL SINUMERIK Solution Line NCU720.2 Best regards Aradove

Aradove Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi! I checked all these locations, but they do not contain the alarm files. Is there like a .ini file that defines the location? My guess is that the machine manufacture has moved away from the standard location.

"Also please refer the attached sheet for user alarm configuration." I have the same problem and have also looked in the locations posted in the 2nd post without finding anything. The post above is for PCU50 only and i think that I and the threadstarter have a NCU without a PCU50. Anybody know if there are an .ini-file for the alarmtexts location like the MBDDE.INI when you use the PCU50?

And what are you actually trying to do (add alarm, change message, etc)? Alarm messages may be either in .txt or .ts files. As was shown above, they are normally at: SystemCF card\\sinumerik\hmi\lng where can be addon, oem, user, or siemens You can also access some of the oem alarms by going to Setup / HMI and then selecting Alarm Texts on right side menu. That would be the method to add an alarm if that is what you are trying to do. In SystemCF card\\sinumerik\hmi\cfg you can find slaesvcconf.xml which is used to specify additional alarm files. It will specify a .xml file which defines the alarms, but the actual alarm message is still from the lng\ folder. Also, OEMs can create add different subfolders for their files. Looking at SystemCF card\\sinumerik\hmi\cfg\systemconfiguration.ini could show something like: [oem_dirs] OEM_1=oem_subfolder in which case, there would be more lng\ folders at SystemCF card\*\sinumerik\hmi\oem_subfolder \lng

I´ve looked in the standard locations you´ve mentioned above and they are empty. I got a tip from a co-worker that the texts may be from HMI-Pro (which we have together with HMI-embedded). I looked in there and there they were. But i still think the actual file containing the texts must be located somewhere on the CF-card? I haven´t had the time to try to change the text in HMI-Pro and download them yet, but i will as soon there´s a little less to do here... Will also look in the Oem-folders, but i´m almost shure i looked there too without finding anything.

wolves and hawks Posts: 531 Rating: (35)	HMI Pro language files should be under add on language folder. If you have installed hmi pro you can search at the project and download it that way. Otherwise you might overwrite your changes everytime. Why do you not ask the oem?

I like to figure out myself how things work to learn something. I´m gonna try with HMI-Pro first and if that doesn´t work i will ask the oem. Thanks for your input with the HMI-Pro language location!
