Old S300 and TP700 compatibility

Cincinnatus Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	I currently have: - Simatic S7 300 (315-2AF03-0AB0) which is a rather OLD controller, - STEP 7 V5.1 I have recently obtained a new panel and appropriate software - TP700 Comfort (6AV2-124-0GC01-0AX0) - Simatic WinCC Comfort/Advanced V11 SP2 I tried to connect S300 with TP700 via Profibus but communication couldnt be established. I have two questions: a) Is it my S7 300 even compatible with new panel TP700 or there is solely a software issue? I am afraid that legacy S300 is source of the problem. b) What kind of software upgrade should I buy to make things working (STEP 7 V11 Proffesional?)? Thanks in advance

Clarify what did you did in Step7 and WinCC Comfort 11. In WinCC must select like acommunication driver as S7-300. You have to create tags manuallyand configure the screens thereafter. Cincinnatus Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	WinCC Comfort 11: I have selected communication driver S7-300. Than enabled me to manually create a tag (IW0) and connect it to output element on the screen. Then I downloaded the project onto TP700. STEP7: Here I am not sure what to do, as there is no TP700 in hardware library. So I have setup a hardware configuration with S7-300 and OP170 and defined their connection as Profibus. Then downloaded hardware configuration and an empty OB1 onto S7-300. Although the start-up time of S7-300 is longer than usual (I am assume thats because establishing link with TP700), the TP700 does not communicate. Thanks for your time
