I'm working on a conversion and I need to programm the onboard counter of the 313C. I have used sfb47 from the Siemens library but I still have some questions.

The machine has to do the following: The encoder is used to detect the height of the product. In one machine cyclus the encoder has to count x pulses and compare them to a certain comparison value, then stop the machine fom lowering any further.

I have assigned the following parameters:

You have to configure the counter in HWconfig but there are five posibilities to choose from (count continuously,count once, count perodically, frequency counting, pulse-width modulation).

I'm not sure which one of these options is most suited for my application (I thought count continuously) ?

Also I can't find anything about resetting the counter in the manuals. Is the counter reset automaticly when it has reached it's comparison value or how does this work?

So if I want to reset the counter I have to write value 0 to the count value?

If this is the right way to reset the counter, how can I programm this because I will need two different jobs (hex 01 & hex 04) and two different job values (the comparison value and the reset value)?
