hi

i have a siemens siemens 314c  2dp plc which communicate with wago through profibus communication .I need to take backup from the plc, but the mpi port is not configured or access restricted. So how can i take backup. Can i remove profibus communication from wago and using mpi cable possile to take backup from profibus port..?

if i remove the cable any configuration will lose from my wago..?

Pls suggest me a solution...

why do you thing that the MPI Port is not accessible?
With which settings you have try the Access? If the MPI is not configrued it working with
the default settings (Transmission 187,5 kb), have you control the settings of the MPI Cabel?

Which MPI Cable you use exactly?

Which Software do you use for the Backup?

If the MPI Cable supports PROFIBUS you can use the DP POrt right, the Configuration of the WAGO is stored in the WAGO Device and should not deleted if you disconnect the Wago.

pls look at your CPU, are there 2 ports (MPI & DP)? If yes, probably WAGO slave is connected to that DP port and MPI port is free. Connect to that MPI port cable, set in PG/PC interface S7Online - MPI profile of your converter and try connect to CPU. Question is, what SW you're using, pls specify because this is important everytime.

I am using step 7 software and mpi pc adapter usb A2 cable. In this i am trying backup, it is not showing any device with MPI port.  so i thought in program it's disabled. With same configuration i upload another plc backup. But here it's not accessible. Already it communicating with wago slave so can i access cpu through that port using mpi cable ..?

yes this adapter supports PROFIBUS and can be used to access the PLC trough the DP Port.

in that case of upload via DP port, as said guys before you can do this. If is on some that DP connectors free connection (female port), connect your cable to that female port. As said Christoph, select in PG/PC interface your cable but with Profibus profile. Go to properties and select correct speed (that which is configured your DP network). Profile of DP can be DP or standard. If there isn't free connection on that DP network cable to connect your cable, unplug from CPU DP port that network cable and connect your cable with PG/PC. Try upload prj to PG/PC. This must work.

What i'm fearing this plc backup's i don't have any and the maker not available now. That's the main reason i'm asking again. first i will remove the profibus and i i wiil connect the mpi cable change interface to mpi auto then i can able to upload the data. After i connect the profibus cable it will automatically detect salve plc and will  communicate  r8..?
