Hello,

I have several DBs with identical structure. I want to make a function that copy any one of the DB to another. The inputs of the function are the DB's number as DB_ANY. I use BLKMOV to copy the DBs. Therefore I need to convert the DB_ANYs to VARIANT. When I use DB_ANY_TO_VARIANT I get a strange error number. Any Ideas?

Here is set of pictures which solves the task, there is an restriction that Source and Destination Data blocks can not be Global data blocks, that's the reason why example from Mr. Omer Ron failed.

Data block which is an instance data block of a PLC data type or a system data type (SDT) or a data block which is an ARRAY DB. Important -> Data blocks declared as Global Data blocks can not be used.

//Place a Pointer on a Source DB
#tmpVariantSource := DB_ANY_TO_VARIANT(in := #SourceDBAny, err => #errCode_Any2VarSource);
//Place another Pointer to a Destination DB
#tmpVariantDestination := DB_ANY_TO_VARIANT(in := #DestinationDBAny, err => #errCode_Any2VarDest);
// Get Data from Source Pointer
VariantGet(SRC := #tmpVariantSource,
DST => #tmpDB_DataType);
// Put data on Destination Pointer
VariantPut(SRC := #tmpDB_DataType,
DST := #tmpVariantDestination);
