I need to switch a speed setting to a variable speed motor from one value (a fixed low SP like 20 % which I created a setpoint for enabling this value to be typed in from the HMI) to another value (this will be the output from a PI(D) regulator so it can go from 0 to 100 %. Ideally the switch over should be “bumpless” and also follow a ramp. I would like to know which elements I need to use and where they are “hiding” in the TIA Portal ? If you also have examples of this logic that would be even better. See also the attached sketch. AttachmentSwitch.pdf (467 Downloads) |

The SEL operator should be no problem to you as it works exactly the way your pdf shows. How to write RAMP function block you can learn here. |

Thanks again Jacek. You are quite right - the SEL operator is what I was looking for. I will read up about the ramp function.

I'm confused about the need to program ramp. Isn't ramp up/down speed something you usually program in the drive? Adam |
