Is it possible to read values from Modbus and using them for changing Off parameter of Up/Down counter only if some condition is meet?

Assuming that the Off parameter is a crucial parameter (it should not be changed if Modbus is not available, or in some stage of the process, ...), do you find changing it using Modbus TCP as a standard thing to do or do you see some challenges which can not be reliably solved? (with LOGO! Soft Comfort 8.2 and LOGO!8.FS4)

There is: Digital connections = thin connecting lines between a digital output pin and a digital input pin. Analog connections = thick connecting lines between an analog output pin and an analog input pin. Reference connections = thin lines between a parameter array output pin and a parameter array input pin. You probably mean a reference connection. How can you configure references between blocks in LOGO! 8?

If there is to be a condition for this, then I ask myself the question: What value should the OFF parameter have if the condition is not active?
