I have a PCU 50.3. I realize they are pretty low in spec in terms of RAM and processor etc... But when i load a program, i want to view it in the editor on the 840d to make a few quick checks before i run it. However, on some of my bigger programs (17MB), i get an error that the program is too big for editor. Is there something i can adjust or do to be able to see programs as large as this or is this simply a memory issue within the computer itself?

Part programs are run directly from NC memory. How much NC free memory available? You can run program directly from HD. 

 Not sure of the NC Memory. How do i run the program directly from the HD and will this allow me to view it in the editor? Thanks

 I tried to do that. I executed from HD. However when i tried to open it, i got an error saying that i cant open it when it is in channel 1. After i execute from HD, what are the step to view it in the editor?

Yes, user can edit the programs from HD in text editor. To run program directly from HD, select machine menu ----> Program overview ---------> select the program to run from HD -------> At right side from vertical soft key select option ------ Execu from HD.

Its better to edit part program in external PC & then upload in system as editing in text editor in system depends upon system memory configuration, part program & standard cycles loaded etc. etc. in system memory, i.e. SRAM & DRAM capacity, but could not open program of 17 MB capacity in system text editor.
