In my configuration I have one SICAM PAS CC connected to two SICAM PAS Full Servers which should work as redundant.

I have checked SICAM PAS CC manual and it explains that it is possible to make
redundancy with
- WinCC script SicamPAS_ConnectionChange.pas
- Process tag
- ConnectionStateXXX
- ForeceConnectionStateXXX

In script it is explained that OPER tag can be used or Process tag.

Has anyone tested this?
Does anyone know is it needed to have Automation license for this to work since it does not say that SoftPLC blocks should be used.

We didn't order Automation license so it would be good if it will work without it.

I want to change from master to slave only if one SICAM PAS Server lose communication to
the switch nothing more. IEC 61850 is used

all I need is simple redundancy. I will try and see if this will be done automatically by WinCC.

In my configuration I have one SICAM PAS CC, and two SICAM PAS.
I want PAS CC to switch between SICAM PAS if one SICAM PAS fails.

Also both SICAM PAS's are equipped with Redundand ethernet cards so I don't need
to check connection between SICAM PAS and Ethernet switch.

Please see attachment this would be enough. I think for this
type of redundancy I won't need Automation license.

I will have directly connected only IEC 61850 and IEC 104 devices.

Hello Mike,

I have also the redudancy problem you explained to ensark2. In my substation it happens that WinnCC connects to the first master and NDC connects via 104 to the second master, as you said in this case the command from Control center is not possible. 

In this substation I have automation license so could also apply the logic from redudancy manual. Would you be  so kind and send me this manual, I have Sicam 6 in this substaion.

If you use SICAM PAS V 7, then there is no need for logic in automation (Soft PLC)de.

Install license for IEC61850 and IEC104 on both SICAM PAS.

In WinCC  and under Tag Management, right click on PAS Data Server this will open Channel unit properties dialog window. In this window click properties button then it will open Connection properties dialog, again there is Properties button, click on it then a PAS Connection dialog will open, in this dialog window chose V7 Redundancy in front of Connection Type and enter the IP address for both SICAM PAS. 

Now when first SICAM PAS fail, the WinCC will connect to second SICAM PAS automatically.

If you use SICAM PAS V6, then you need to insert the Redundancy logic in Soft PLC.
