bergmanu Platinum Member Joined: 4/28/2015 Last visit: 4/24/2025 Posts: 3345 Rating: (382)	Hi, Go to the Device manager (Start > right click on Computer > Manage > Device Manager). Then right click on CDC Serial > Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Show all devices > Have disk > Browse > select the folder in which you unpacked the files > choose "linux-cdc-acm.inf" > click Open > OK > Next > Yes Then the driver should be successfully installed, Best regards!

I have unzipped this Win7/Win8-SerialDriver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24748/Intel-Galileo-Firmware-Updater-and-Drivers?product=83137 I select "search for Drivers on Computer", but Windows don't accept linux-cdc-acm.inf. "Can't install CDC Serial" ... What's wrong ? Thilo

Did you do these steps? If you choose the file directly after the step "Browse my computer for..." it wont't work.

dano3829 Posts: 1 Rating: (0)	I had same issue, installing through Device Manager did not work. I had to right click on .inf File in Explorer and Click Install. I couldn't install driver through Device Manager and then browsing the folder.

The Win7 CDC serial driver couldn't be detected and the official Intel driver doesn't include the driver for Win7. I try the process mentioned above, which are: Go to the Device manager (Start > right click on Computer > Manage > Device Manager). Then right click on CDC Serial > Update Driver Software > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Show all devices > Have disk > Browse > select the folder in which you unpacked the files > choose "linux-cdc-acm.inf" > click Open > OK > Next > Yes However, face an error during the upload of the driver :( Attachment 60347322_306807303552721_5589815354953039872_n.png (557 Downloads)
