Fuzzy Logic for a servo controller? No idea of your application, but fuzzy logic may not be the way to go.

Fuzzy logic is great when the algorithm is not well understood, but the process and the result is.  Then you can make some rules.  Usually, a servo cycle has a well understood algorithm.

So forget it, you won't obtain anything of useful.

 Hi, I found this document: http://www.industry.siemens.com/datapool/industry/industrysolutions/services/en/Fuzzy-Control-en.pdf , where it says that examples of its use include positioning as well as speed and distance control.

Still thinking about this after all of this time?

1.  That software was discontinued years ago.
2. It may have worked for NON_LINEAR systems, but who knows.

Before you re-invent the wheel, it is probably a good idea to know how a wheel works.

I took a course in Neuro-Fuzzy back in the 1990's when it was being promoted as the next great thing.  I was looking at applications of spray water cooling for slab casting machines, which are non-linear and mostly empirical.  It went nowhere and, as the rest of the industry decided, was of little value.

Applications at the time were for things that did not have a well understood end result, such as Cook Rice until it is DONE, wash clothes until they are CLEAN, adjust temperature so I am COMFORTABLE.  Move axis 100mm is a very well understood result. 

Attached is the best example of a not well understood fuzzy controller.

Forget about it unless this is a purely academic exercise, then waste all of the time you want.  You have a solution looking for a problem to solve.
