Hi all,

I know how to detect wire break in a module. But I am not sure how yo detect more than one channel wirebreak in the same module. If someone can help with a sample progrma, it will be a great help.

i think its not possible to detect each channel it self , because the alarm of wire break will show to you as general malfunction in the card

I am using Thermocouple module.  That is why I want to do the nwirebreak diagnostics with the Diagnostic Interrupt Block. But I am able to get only one channel at a time.

what module do you have?

you can also check the values of your analogue input. When there is a wire-break, they should show 7FFF.

BUt one of my friend had a program to do so. But he said that he missed the backup. He said it's possible, but I am not sure how.

hi Jay,

but you can check every channel, when the diagnostic-OB is called. Check all used channels for proper values. the diagnostic-error-OB also tells you which channel is affected and if there are more than one errors active.

 no, you won´t.

but you can check for it with the information in the OB82 header.

You can use the GET_DIAG-function to get specific information. You will find infos about GET_DIAG in the TIA-help or in the S7-1200manual.
