Hi,

Is it possible for WinCC V6.0 to read and display data from a SQL Server database residing on another server? The other server does not have WinCC or OPC Server installed.

If so, how is it done?

If you want only to read some values from SQL this it's possible – you must read via ODBC (I read data from M$ ACCESS via ODBC).

Communication and Query's are write in scripts (C or VB).

Hi everybody. I want to do something like this, but the difference is that i want to read data from SQL Server but from a table made by me, so it is not a WinCC table nor user archive.

I found someone who uses in C-scipts the commands DBConnect and DBExecuteDirect_hdsn (they where provided in WinCC libraries) for making the connections and writing. I need to read using a query, but i dont know howif i can use theDBExecuteDirect_hdsn to send the query, what kind of object do i need to store the results of the query and how to initialize them.
