Bilao Posts: 378 Rating: (47)	Hello, as written in the following entry, you need at least v5.4 SP4 to http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/38727042 Configuration with the new order no.: If the module is to be configured with its new order no., a Hardware Support Package must be installed in STEP7 (HSP file). The HSP file enables you to configure the new CPUs on older STEP7 versions as well (not older than V5.4 SP4). Information on how to download and install the HSP file is available from entry ID 17581199. Working on the CPUs with older STEP 7 versions than V5.4 SP4 is not possible. You have two possiblities now. Using older order no. (6ES7315-2EH13-0AB0) if you don´t need the new functions of this product. Update your STEP 7 to at least SP4 Best regards Bilao

Step 7 v 5.4 SP3 + HF1 Hello, To program this CPU "6ES7315-2EH14-0AB0", You need at leastSTEP7 V 5.5 or higher Please look at second section "Engineering with" in the technical specification of this CPU. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/36816516/td To upgrade your software from Step 7 V5.4 to V5.5, you need to buy: "6ES7810-4CC10-0YE5" Another solution: If you are not planning to upgrade your software for now, you can use in HW configuration the elder type; part number "6ES7315-2EH13-0AB0" Thus because the CPU6ES7315-2EH13-0AB0became obsolete and the successor of it is6ES7315-2EH14-0AB0 Please check sucessor tab of the above link of old CPU. Hello Ayman,
i think you are not right. With the right HSP it is possible to configure the CPU with V5.4 SP4 and higher.
Just read the entry i mentioned above.

I think the discrpency is comming from Siemens not from me. As in the technical specification of the CPU, it says that it will be programmed using Step 7 V5.5 or higher while in your link it says that you can use V5.4 SP4.

In any case, As I wrote before, you can configure in Hardware configuration6ES7315-2EH13-0AB0instead of6ES7315-2EH14-0AB0

The following paragraph is from your link:

In the case of a spare part replacement:
When you replace a CPU (e.g. order no. 6ES7315-2EH13-0AB0) against a compatible follow-up type (in this case 6ES7315-2EH14-0AB0) the STEP 7 project need not be changed. It is also not necessary to upgrade the STEP 7 software.
In Hardware Config Actual hardware on hand
6ES7315-2EH13-0AB0 6ES7315-2EH14-0AB0

It was giving an example of CPU315 and it is applicable for CPU 314 as well.
