ASTECH Posts: 45 Rating: (0)	Hallo all, Although thereare many similar threads, I could notfind the answer. I am experiencing problems with this button. I have a working project, I can downloadit into the Comfort Panel 1200and I can also use the Simulation ("Start simulation" buttton). But I cannot use the button "Start runtime on this PC" button. What is this for actually? What is the difference between runtime and simulation? I thought that when you simulate, the project is using Runtime to be able to run. When I test my projectIshouldbe able to use my programming station (just my PC) as a parallel HMI to be able quickly make corrections of my project (editing and testing in one place), otherwise I have to download the project enwalk to the screen every time to test something. I installed also, together with WinCC Professional V12 SP1, the WinCC RT Start, but how to use it? I have a following software installed: Simatic WinCC Professional V12 SP1,Simatic WinCC Runtime Professional Simulation V12 SP1, Simatic WinCC Runtime Advanced Simulation V12 SP1, My colleague has exactily the same set of software installed and he can use the "Start runtime on this PC" button as well. He can thus use this "parallel HMI" as well, I don't. I searchedbut could not find the clear answer.I would be thankful for any help.

K!ke Posts: 1299 Rating: (136)	Hello, you can't start the runtime of aComfort Panel on your pc. if you make a project with pc application and wincc runtime advanced or professional you will be able to press the button. As the comfort panel very often acts in another way than the pc would do it's called "simulation". you can test the project with the simulation, most functions are the same in pc simulation and panel runtime. TomDeWou Platinum Member Joined: 11/15/2006 Last visit: 3/26/2025 Posts: 1319 Rating: (176)	For running the real Runtime and not the simulation you must have the RUNTIME itself installed which is a different installation (coming wiht a different installation disc). When installing the Engineering you only get the Simulation with it - that's the reason why the Runtime button is disabled.

Start Runtime on the PC button active only for PC system with WinCC RT Advanced but not for WinCC RT Rrofessional(screenshots isin attachment). Why? I want use PC as ES and as OS simultaneously if it possible. And further - for WinCC RT Start i prescribed path to WinCC RT Rrofessionalsystem(.MCX) and after reboot Windows Runtime(or simulator?)has started.
