HChuck Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Greetings, I could really use the advice on the following issue: I have the following setup: S5-135U rack S5 CPU 928B OP17 textual panel connected directly to A6 and A5 (PU ports) Panels are broken and need to be replaced. I have explored some options, but can't seem to find a modernpanel that can be a direct replacement. OP 77B would do the trick (or am I wrong?), but it is soon going out of production. KP400 Comfort would be a modernversion, but it seems to me that I cannot connect it. I would appreciate Any tips/advice/recommendations. Thanks in advance. ~Chuck

If you use all of them, you can choose only a touch, and you need make the buttons on the screen. You need a panel what know the AS511, and have TTY (if the panel doesn't have TTY you need RS232/TTY converter) Regards Zenta...

HChuck Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Thanks for the reply. Exact number of keys is not an issue as long as it has a numpad and arrow keys. Since I have practically no experience with pre-S7 systems, my main worry is communication via the same port. Manuals are useful, but they don't really cover the cross-generation systems. To recap, I need: AS551 via TTY or AS551 via RS232 RS232 to TTY converter I can't seem to find any AS551 support in current series of panels. Newest one that i can found (and it seems to fit my needs) is OP 77B. KP400 Comfort seems to be a direct successor, but as far as I can see, it has no AS551 support.

SIMATIC TD17, OP3, OP7 and OP17, Discontinuation effective 10/01/2007 And as OP177B are phased out products, then make another migration to KP700 Comfort. SIMATIC OP 77B, TP/OP 177B, TP/OP 277, MP 177, MP 277 and MP 377 Declared Mature Products If you do not have the configuration file, then you have to contact your local Siemens presentative and send the panel for replacement. You have to upload the file via prosave and send the deffected panel to Siemens for replacement. Hope this helps.
