is it possible to upload and save data in tia program with hardware configuration?

So is it possible to upload and save data in tia program with hardware configuration? Thanks in advance

You get everything other than current data (values of the DBs / tags) and hardware configuration. It is to me an incomplete upload when you cannot upload from the plc, download to a replacement plc and everything work as if you never replaced the plc. The original PLC maker has had that option since PLCs were created for the automotive industry in the 1970s. Sad Siemens still does not have this option working.

I have searched everywhere and even watched a video on the topic, and cannot even get the blocks to upload. I try to drag-and-drop them and nothing. It wont let me do it. I can get it to work fine on V11 SP2 UP5. But not for already downloaded V11 or V12 projects in V12. Even trying the "opening in compatibility mode" with a V11 project according to the FAQ doesn't work. According to the forum, It seems other people have gotten this to work. Is it just my installed software version or computer or something? What am I missing? Maybe this is relevant: The blocks under online access that I cannot transfer are always highlighted gray.

I wrote the program and downloaded it to both PLC's in both cases. The difference can be noted in the pictures, although I'm not sure this has anything to do with the actual problem. I upgraded to Update 4 and followed the new post from a day ago here: https://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/llisapi.dll?func=cslib.csinfo&lang=en&objid=59725202&caller=view I am able to upload the project blocks now.
