Problem with CP341 RS232C

azrael Posts: 45 Rating: (4)	hi, i'm having a problem with the cp341. after downloading, the cp do not communicate (tx & rx not blinking).. i hve 36 cp in all and atleast 5-6 modules do not have communication. before, when i download a program, the modules will comunicate with the equipment.

Please check if the FunctionBlocks you are using are up-to-date and check also if the CP 341 RS232 are up-to-date. Further check if there is no deadlock in the program, so that the software is waiting for something that never will come....

azrael Posts: 45 Rating: (4)	tnx again for ur reply... yes, the driver needed was loaded... and also the program is running well. before, the cp's were function well. as soon as i download the program it will communicate with the equipment. my reason for the download is that when we restart the equipment after it was shut down, it will not automatically establish a connection withour plc and when restarting the cpu, some cp were not communicating.

My customer had several identical applications and some spare RS-232 modules so it was decided to try it that way. My CP341 RS-232 modules would transmit one time and then quit trying. The error informationin the PLC diagnostics saidno cableconnected. Turns out the modbus slave I was talking to was not pulling the receive line low. The RS-485 cp341 doesn't care - you can unplug the cable at the module and it will still transmit. The RS-232 cp341 will not transmit if there is not a cable plugged in - or if the partner does not pull the receive line low.

azrael Posts: 45 Rating: (4)	hi mojo, thanks 4 the info. but we can't change modules now, for it will cost to much... and also, in our application we need to read values from the devices and send command to control its operation. rs485 may transmit w/o the receive signal but it still a big problem if we cant receive the values. we can't control it in that way.

SO,I did that First start the PLC ,Then Start the external equipment.
