How to choose modules

keegan14 Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hi :D Im a litte beginner with step 7, in fact that's my first real project and it's my graduation project, I'm going good with programmation blocs but now i have choose the right modules. I'm using 315 CPU and i have I/O analogs and digitals output, what's the parameters that i must take care of the most when choosing modules ? and for pid régulation, it needs a special module ? PS: I have 12 thermocouple TYPE K , i have used 3 A18x12 bits 6ES7-331-7KF02-0AB0 Best regards

If you have digital values (on/off) you need digital modules. If there will be sensors for preasure oder temperature you will need analog modules. For the parameters it will be the same, only if you know what you want to realise you can set the right parameters. Regards

rg-link Posts: 19 Rating: (0)	keegan14 ... and for pid régulation, it needs a special module ? ... Hi, For realize PID-regulation, special module isn't necesary. Depends on your needs, an analog or/and digital output module and a program block like "CONT_C" (see library) is helpful in many cases.

SolutionFinder Posts: 559 Rating: (87)	Just take care for below points: 1. Select DI/Do module for max channel to cover more ios in one module itself like 32 ch DI/ 32 ch DO. 2. Check the voltage level of DI & DO. 3. Check that occupation of modules can be done in CPU rack or not or you have to use IM. 4.For AI normally you can go for 331- 1KF02 or 331-7KF02. But in your case you are using K type thermocouple, So 331-7KF02 is the best option.

MHasan Posts: 63 Rating: (4)	You need to know the type of i/o's first of all. What your DI's/ DO's type? are they 24VDC signal or 120/220VAC signal? What your AI's/ AO's type? 0-10VDC, 0-20mA. 4-20mA etc? Then compare your requirement with the manuals and select your hardware.
