You can damage Your CT if there is current flow and You open secondary winding circuit.

I would not bother the current flow unless You use it for Power measurement.

guys please, I know that sometimes you want to help, but don't answer things you don't know.

Polarization in CTs is important for the protection relays, not only for measurement. The feeder/trafo/motor may not be properly protected by the protection relay if CTs are not properly connected, inclusive coordinated with VTs.

To know the correct connection one must know the project, the elements being protected/measured and the protection device/meter. This is the engineering behind the project and normally you buy this kind of service.

Remember that equipments and lifes may be behind your circuit-breaker.
