where i find RECORD DATA BLOCK RDREC

AZRAIQI Posts: 67 Rating: (1)	hi all, how i can getRecordData Block (RDREC) .... I work On recording data signal from CP1242-7 in other project i seen it but i dont know how to get it and the 2nd question what is the variable index and how to know other data indexs (for cp1242-7) .

There is a point to be shared regarding your question: TIA Online Help Note The interface of the "RDREC" instruction is identical to the "RDREC" FB defined in "PROFIBUS Guideline PROFIBUS Communication and Proxy Function Blocks according to IEC61131-3". This is the same case we have in STEP 7 (SFB52).Normally, We find details regarding the data record structure and index number in an application. Noramally, these are available in FAQs and manual for each hardware! I hope this helps, Hamid Hosseini

I have an old project used data record in it (not my project) (snapshut) 1- how to find this block and insert it in my TIA project ? 2- how to know the index number for "Signal Quality" in cp1242-7 ? (as i seen buy googled index number is 12336 for quality signal so my question from where this number) :D I sorry for asking again but .......

Dear AZRAIQI, 1) you can find the block in Extended instructions -> Distributed I/O 2) this depends on your module help Use the INDEX parameter to select the information to be read from the module. Which data records can be read with which data record number depends on the module. For additional information, see the manual to the specific module.
