Use encoders for speed feedback with G120 drives

Ahmed Experienced Member Joined: 2/20/2007 Last visit: 11/19/2024 Posts: 122 Rating: (2)	Hello, We cannot use encoders for speed feedback for G120 drives as CU240 for G120 does not have encoder interface whereas in S120 we can use encoder via SMC30 drive cliq interface. But I dont knowany latest development whether any new CU240 is developed now for encoder interface or not?? Does anyone have update

Deleted User Posts: 767 Rating: (69)	Hello Ahmed, The SINAMICS G120 Modular Drive (i.e. Power Module and separate Control Unit) has capability to support encoder feedback. The Control Unit must be of type CU250S-2 with the communications needed for the application. Choices for communications are: USS/Modbus RTU PROFIBUS PROFINET CANopen EtherNet/IP Best Regards, Deputy
