alibaba Posts: 90 Rating: (1)	Dear All, we had ordered new SIPAST PS2 PA (6DR5520-0NN00-0AA4)it came as sw5 profile3.1. The old ones which they are only 1month old are with sw4 profile3.0. My problem now; is that PDM won't allow me to link with new sw5 profile3.1. It says I need the propper device to link. I had checked in the SIPART PS PA for latest PDM files. But, didn't find the propper one. Please Help!! Ali

Ali Hello Ali, you need to check the com port for profibus PA and upgrade the firmware version >=5.0 regards chook

SonicRanger Posts: 151 Rating: (8)	Hello Alibaba, Have you already tried the "device identification" button in PDM? You can find it in the `library-window" right below. You can also run PDM Lifelist and double click on the instrument. The program will create a project if everything is installed right. If the unit is still not recognized, then please post a screendump. I am looking forward to it. Good luck, SonicRanger.

Chook Experienced Member Joined: 6/13/2006 Last visit: 10/27/2025 Posts: 201 Rating: (8)	You can upgrade the firmware as below : 1. go to process instrument home page : http://pi.khe.siemens.de/index.aspx?nr=2100 2 . click on Products & Solutions 3. from left hand side , you click on Positioners 4. now you can see the Sipart PS2 homepage and from right hand side , you click on Download 5. Then select the SIPART PS2 PA(6DR55xx) 6. Try to download the file: PROFIBUS Device Description for SIMATIC PDM Firmware : ≥ 4.00.00

alibaba Posts: 90 Rating: (1)	I had downloaded this file from the net perviously and tried it. But, still it gives the same error messages that I had attached previously. I don't think it's a problem with PDM software, since I'm communicating with 40 positioners that are SW4.0 not SW5.0. in my opinion it's a Siemens Bug. They had made new positioners, but they didn't provide the proper PDM file. I need this file badly.... please help!! Regards, Ali
