SICAM PASS - Is there any way to create a xml file automatically?

mertz Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Hello, I am working on a SCADA application using SICAM PASS and SCC. The substation has a RTU 560 and the communication protocol with the existing Microscada from ABB is IEC 608705-5-101. Using different software I was able to download the rtu file and export a signal list in excel. I managed to get using asdu addresses the telegram adress I need to import via xml file in SICAM PASS. BUT there are over 1000 of them. Is there any way to create a xml file automatically? I am running out of ideas. Please help. Best regards.

In PAS just create the type of messages you need, for example, 1000 single points. They will be marked in red as the name and addresses are still the same. Using excel, create a table with the information from ABB RTU, respecting the columns from PAS. Or simply use 2 columns: names and address. Copy and paste direclty from Excel to PAS Template. Before doing this, make sure thata common column, like "information type" is selected for ascending or descending order, otherwise when you paste Name and Address they won't be in the same line. Mike

mertz Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	Mike J you trully are a gold expert. This sollution works like a charm. Its my first project since I did the training in Nuremberg and I totally forgot this can be done. I was trying to use an existing template of a different RTU in xml it kind of worked but it was time consuming stuff. Now using some filters in 1 hour is done. How can I repay you? Excelent work sir.
