cpu 224, can I buy a db9 splitter for communicate with PC and VFD(RS-485)

Musaib Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	As my cpu 224 have only one communication port, can I buy a db9 splitter if I have to make the plc communicate with PC and VFD(RS-485) aswell at the same time? check attachment please ------------------------ New subject after splitting from CAN ANY BODY GIVE ME PIN CONNECTION FOR S7 200 FREE PORT AND RJ 45 CONNECTOR OF DRIVE. To daisy chain the communication link (RS485) is not the biggest problem. The problem is that you PLC needs to communicate in a "language" - we call it a protocol. Natively the PLC uses the PPI protocol whilst the VFD probably does not. I have give some explaination in one of your earlier questions to this regard. There is nothing stopping you to get your PC to use the same protocol as your VFD. If you can achieve this, then it will be more manageable. Take care.. the PC port is RS232.. you will need an adapter to convert between RS232 and RS485. I have left out details on how to chain your RS485 link.. but someone will get to this as soon as you have established an understanding on what protocol you are to use. Greetings. w
