AMEN Regular Member Joined: 1/11/2014 Last visit: 9/11/2024 Posts: 12 Rating: (0)	Dear Experts, I am doing an modification in a Old machine with CPU 317-2 and Interface Module and I/O modules from Vipa. I need to delete all unwanted Digital I/o Modules from the Hardware configuration to make the troubleshooting for the customer easy.. When I deleted the Modules in the hardware configuration and re arranged the remaining Modules ( both in Hardware config of Step 7 and on the machine) as needed, I get a BF error. Is there anything we must look when positioning Modules???. For Eg when I keep 4 DI module and 2 DO module after the Interface module, there is no Bus Fault. However when I rearrange the modules as 3 DI, 2 DO and 1 DI, i have a BF error. Please assist.

jpapu9 Posts: 50 Rating: (2)	Hi, Please note I am not an expert just somebody supplying a suggestion. Did you move the module in the hardware config, recompile and download the new configuration to the PLC? Make sure you keep addresses of the modules the same or you will have to make changes to thePLC program. Regards

With 4 DI and 2 DO it works. If i rearrange the modules to 3 DI, 2 DO and 1 DI both physically and n Hardware configuration, it gives BF error. I think I am missing out some step, like BUILD or GENERATE option???

jpapu9 Posts: 50 Rating: (2)	Hi, Siemens does not have Build option instead you have toselect STATION, then select SAVEand COMPILEin the hardware config.After that select STATION followed by CONSISTENCY CHECK. If it reports back that the cofig. is OK then download the configuration toyour PL via thePLC DOWNLOAD. Regards
