PLC S7-1200 system time zone (+0 GTM). Why?

This is right? and this is my problem. The system time allows the project to be deployed anywhere in the world and only a slight time offset created to generate the local time is needed. System time is what gets updated when you use NTP, and using the configuration for local time, the plc can then create the local time reference. If you want to know what time it is where you are, use Local time. If you want to reference some universal event using UTC, then you have that option as well.

I won't connect my PLC to internet (NTP). Try RD_LOC_T and let the PLC manage the offset for you. Remember time is MODULO 24 (0..23). If you get over 24, it's the next day, so remember to increment the date as well for localized time & date. The PLC does this automatically with the right configuration.

I think s7-1500 and s7-1200 use +0GMT only. You are responsible for configuring the offset, and summer hours (DST) transition dates/times for your target locality. Remember changes to the hardware configuration must be downloaded to the plc to take effect.

Because the UK is where UTC = 0. Why do we all (except those who live or work in UTC 0) have to change our local time offset? It is not Siemens. It's the world clock referencing one horizontal line on the planet with no offset. I think you will find windows does the same thing. At least every instance I've ever installed asked me what time zone I was in so it could internally reference UTC = 0 and also display localized time. It helps with summer hours/daylight saving time changes since UTC does not shift in the summer.
